Elizabeth Ann 'Betty' DIERS

Elizabeth Ann "Betty" DIERS, 84, of Roseville, Ill., died at 9:50 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at Roseville Rehab and Health Care Center.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.

No visitation is planned. The body has been cremated.

Memorials may be made to Roseville American Legion and Raritan Fire Department.

Corman Memorial Home in Roseville is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. DIERS was born April 10, 1927, in Monmouth, Ill., the daughter of Earle and Elizabeth Ann HENDERSON HICKMAN. She married Kenneth P. DIERS, formerly of Jefferson County, March 5, 1949, in Monmouth.

She graduated from Monmouth High School and attended Monmouth College.

She worked at Monmouth Lumberyard, owned by her family, before she married.

Mrs. DIERS and her husband farmed more than 50 years east of Raritan, Ill., and lived in rural Raritan and rural Smithshire, Ill.

She was a member of Raritan Reformed Church, Priscilla Women's Organization, Roseville American Legion Auxiliary and Daughters of the American Revolution -- Chief Shaubena Chapter. She was a former member of Roseville Order the of Eastern Star.

She enjoyed reading and music. She had been a soloist in high school and college.

Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Paula ROBINSON of Carlinville, Ill; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
