DEATH CLAIMS G.W. WILLIAMS

Guy W. WILLIAMS, former longtime employee at the Iowa Malleable Iron company, died this morning at the Rest Haven nursing home in Ottumwa where he had been a patient for the past year. He had been in failing health the past three or four years and seriously ill the past several months.

Last rites will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Weston Behner funeral home with the Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Guy W. WILLIAMS, 63, was born May 10, 1888, at Holdrege, Neb., the son of the late Aaron and Violet PHILLIPS WILLIAMS. He was united in marriage on Oct. 14, 1914, to Clara Anna COOK who preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 1945.

WILLIAMS spent most of his life in the Fairfield community. He was an employee at the Malleable for over 25 years before his health forced him to retire. He was a member of the Eagles lodge (sic - Eagles Club or Aerie).

He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Richard HARNESS, Fairfield, and an adopted son, Charles F. EDMONDS, serving in the U.S. navy (sic.) at Corpus Christi, Tex. He is also survived by two grandchildren and one brother, Alvin P. WILLIAMS, Fairfield, and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel ELMORE, Baldwin Park, Calif., and Mrs. Ruth ELMORE, El Monte, Calif. He was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
