Lex Harper BARNETT

Lex Harper BARNETT, 86, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

No service is planned at this time. The body has been cremated, and burial wil take place in Hillsboro Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be made to The Good Samaritan Society Home Care and Hospice. Cards and memorials may be sent to Beulah Shilling, 207 E. Lowe Ave., Fairfield 52556.

Mr. BARNETT was born July 29, 1925, in Douds, the son of Ray and Linnet SLUTTS BARNETT.

He served with the Iowa National Guard and worked at Iowa Malleable Iron Co. as a foundry worker for several years.

Survivors include four children, Donavon, Jeff, Kent and Jolene; and seven siblings, Leona SANDERSON of Hillsboro, Georgia ELLIS of Keota, Mary FAUGHT of Douds, Charlotte WALLERICK of Danville and Beulah SHILLING, Anna WORKMAN and Jim "Jackie" BARNETT all of Fairfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Robert and twin, Rex; one sister, Marie ELLIS; and two daughters, Jackquelin and Melody.
