Art PENNISTON, 73, of Route 2, died Tuesday evening, June 22, 1993, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Shrine of Memories Funeral Home in Ottumwa with Keevin Koch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Ottumwa. Visitation will be open after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the family present from 7 to 8:30 that night. A memorial has been established to Parkview Care Center.
PENNISTON was born Oct. 16, 1919, in Ottumwa, the son of William and Mary Elizabeth MORGAN PENNISTON. He worked for the state health department and was supervisor of waste water in Fairfield until his retirement. He had received a NEOSHA sanitation degree, had been a member of Willard Street Methodist Church in Ottumwa and was a member of Eagles Lodge (sic - Club/Aerie) and Walton Club. He married Alice WEY on Sept. 13, 1941, in Lancaster, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are a sister, Daisy DUTEMPLE of Cape Coral, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. Four sisters and seven brothers preceded him in death.
