Marcia L. 'Marty' BARKER

Marcia L. "Marty" BARKER, 77, of Fairfield died at 5:20 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-Van Buren in Keosauqua as a result of an accident at work Thursday.

The funeral is at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with the Rev. Bill Shewmaker officiating. Cremation will follow with private burial of the cremains in Pittsburg Cemetery (sic - Van Buren County, IA).

Visitation begins at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, with family present from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials to Pittsburg Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at P.O. Box 98, Keosauqua 52565.

Mrs. BARKER was born Dec. 16, 1934, in Keosauqua, the daughter of John Walter and Letha COLE SCOTTON. She married Donald BARKER.

She attended Keosauqua High School. She worked many years at Hotel Manning and at Barker Wire, both in Keosauqua. She managed the restaurant at Best Western Fairfield Inn in Fairfield. She also worked for several years at WalMart in Mount Pleasant and Fairfield.

Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Melinda DAVENPORT and spouse Ronald of Keosauqua, and Becky KELLER of Fairfield; two sons, Steve BARKER and spouse Amy of Batavia and Quintin BARKER and spouse Jennifer of Bloomfield; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Brett BARKER; eight sisters, Lois STARNES, Doris SNELL, Mary BELL, Verna ROBINSON, Norma WARD, Alvastine CANADAY, Hope ANDERSON and Tilla LONG; and one brother, Paul SCOTTON.
