Mescal KENNEDY

Mescal KENNEDY, 94, a former Fairfield resident, died Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Brookhaven Health Care in Springfield, Mo.

The funeral was held Thursday at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield. Interment was at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Victory Trade School, a Christian culinary arts vocational training and discipleship program in Springfield.

Mrs. KENNEDY was born April 5, 1918, in Morrisville, Mo., the daughter of Harley Basil and Sarah Margaret BLOOMER. She married David KENNEDY May 10, 1937. He died in 2002.

She moved to Fairfield in 1963 with her family. She worked as a telephone operator at Parsons College, and later drove the Fairfield Senior Citizens Center bus until her retirement. The KENNEDYs lived in Fairfield until 2001, when they moved to Springfield.

Survivors include two sons, David KENNEDY III of Goodyear, Ariz., and John KENNEDY of Springfield; and one brother, Joe BLOOMER of Springfield.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Margaret Ann KENNEDY, in 1979, three brothers and one sister.
