Inez G. HANSON rites pending

Inez G. HANSON, 79, 301 W. Jefferson, died at 7:35 a.m. today, May 18, 1988, at Jefferson County Hospital Longterm Care Unit, where she had lived since Aug. 10.

Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home.

Mrs. HANSON was born Sept. 1, 1908, at Clay Center, Neb., the daughter of Ed and Minnie PETERSON WESTERLING (sic - WESTERING). She lived her early life in Lincoln, Neb., attended Lindenwood College in Missouri, and graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a degree in music. She married Joseph Samuel HANSON Nov. 19, 1936, at Lincoln. He died June 14, 1974.

They moved to Fairfield the day after their wedding and other than for a short time in Columbus Junction, they had lived in Fairfield. A homemaker, she worked at Rockwood store for Women before opening her own store, Inez Fashion Shop on the west side of the square, in March 1958.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church; TTT, Chapter E; PEO, Chapter HA; White Shrine; Fairfield Women's Club -- very active in the Women's Club Chorus; and a 50-year member of Eastern Star and Alpha Phi Sorority.

Surviving are a daughter, Julie HANSON of Chicago, Ill., a niece and a nephew. Her parents, a brother and a sister preceded her in death.

Inez G. HANSON rite Saturday

The service for Inez G. HANSON, who died Wednesday morning at Jefferson County Hospital Longterm Care Unit, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Clair Odell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials have been established to the Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders Association, McElhinny House and First United Methodist Church.
