Death takes Fred DIERS

Fred Henry DIERS, 88, 106 W. Adams, died at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City.

Last rites have been scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Raymond Funeral Home. The Rev. Lester Smith will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

Fred Henry DIERS was born Oct. 4, 1892, in Brighton. He was the son of Henry and Anna WARNER (sic - WERNER) DIERS. His marriage to Effie MARSHALL took place Feb. 18, 1920, in Washington. She preceded him in death May 30, 1971.

DIERS was a member of the Christian Church VFW, American Legion, a veteran of World War I and a lifetime resident of Jefferson County. He had lived in Fairfield since 1971.

Survivors include two sons, Eugene and Leland, both of Lockridge; three grandchildren; a sister, Charlotte DOBRAS, Fairfield; and a brother, Glenn, Fairfield.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and a sister.

TO ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN THE ESTATE OF FRED H. DIERS, DECEASED:

YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED THAT ON THE 13TH DAY OF JULY, 1981, THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF FRED H. DIERS DECEASED BEARING DATE OF THE 16TH DAY OF DECEMBER, 1975, WAS ADMITTED TO PROBATE IN THE ABOVE NAMED COURT AND THAT LELAND M. DIERS WAS APPOINTED EXECUTOR OF SAID ESTATE.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN THAT ANY ACTION TO SET ASIDE SAID WILL MUST BE BROUGHT IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF SAID COUNTY WITHIN SIX MONTHS FROM THE DATE OF THE SECOND PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE, OR THEREAFTER BE FOREVER BARRED.
