Alice Margarie PATTAN HAAS

Alice Margarie PATTAN HAAS, 92, of Libertyville, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012.

A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Behner Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rick Smith officiating.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Iowa Hospice of Oskaloosa. Cards and memorials may be sent to 1604 275th St., Libertyville 52567.

Mrs. HAAS was born June 7, 1919, in Burlington, the daughter of Henry Martin and Emma Jane SPECK PATTAN. She married Richard Leo HAAS Oct. 25, 1936, in Farmington. He died Feb. 23, 1987.

They farmed for many years southeast of Fairfield. Mrs. HAAS worked for several years at Patton's Sewing Center and Paint Store. They later purchased that business and started Haas Davis Paint and Wallpaper in 1970 and closed the business in 1975. In 1983, they moved from the farm to Batavia, and then in 2002, Mrs. HAAS moved to Libertyville.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen Jean TEDROW and husband Rex of Libertyville; and one son, Terryl Duane HAAS and wife Kristin of California; one daughter-in-law ,Geri HAAS (sic); eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dwight Dean HAAS.

Note: Husband Richard is buried in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield, in Lot Devotion B 121 - space 3. Although Alice's obituary does not mention where she will be buried, she has been interred next to him.
