ILLNESS FATAL TO ELROY SHEMANSKI

Elroy Edward SHEMANSKI (sic. Roy E. SHEMANSKI is the inscription on his headstone), 27, died yesterday (sic. Sept. 22, 1952) at the federal medical center in Springield, Mo., according to word received by his mother, Mrs. Pauline SHEMANSKI, 610 S. Second street.

Funeral services will be held in Fairfield later this week.

SHEMANSKI was born in Jefferson county Sept. 11, 1925, the son of John (sic. a/k/a John Peter) and Pauline BISKEY SHEMANSKI. He had been in poor health for several years.

Survivors include his mother and one sister, Mrs. Verle HAGANS, Fairfield. His father preceded him in death Oct. 23, 1946. SHEMANSKI spent his entire life in this community before entering the federal medical center in 1951. He was a member of the St. Mary Catholic church.

The body is being shipped from Springfield to the Weston Behner Funeral home. No date has been set for services.

Note: Buried in Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. 3rd.129. His DOD was listed in a prior Evergreen cemetery transcription as being Sept. 23, 1952. That was the publication date of his obituary, his death taking place the day before, on Sept. 22, 1952.
