Augusta V. (Sim) Brookhart was born Aug. 5 1881 in Walnut Township, Jefferson County, near Merrimac, daughter of John and Mary Sim. She was a teacher in the Jefferson County schools, having received her education in Walnut Township and the Pleasant Plain Academy. Married Dr. Edward Brookhart of Lawton, Iowa; he died 1937. She died Jan. 10 in Mason City. Bur. Memorial Park Cemetery at Lawton. Survived by her three daughters, Mrs. Ila Kittleson of St. Ansgar, Mrs. Velma Crippen of Mason City and Mrs. Eunice Buso of Fort Worth, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. Also survived by a sister, Mrs. Anna Gentner of Miami, Florida.
