Michael Allen MAIRET, 58, of Ankeny, died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at home.
A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ann's Episcopal Church in Ankeny. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Cantril.
Mr. MAIRET was born Sept. 28, 1953, in Davenport. He married Sally SHAFRANEK May 1, 1976, in Keosauqua. They divorced.
Mr. MAIRET attended Roosevelt High School in Des Moines and obtained a business degree from University of Iowa. He spent 1974-1981 renovating Hotel Manning. With help from his brother, he excavated, designed and built the Sandbar Lounge. In the following years, Mr. MAIRET was a regional sales representative for Musselmann's and H&H Food Service Companies.
Mr. MAIRET enjoyed spending time with family, organizing family events, playing board games, pool and poker, dining and traveling.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Lou MAIRET; his ex-wife, Sally MAIRET; two daughters, Jessica CARLSON and Angela SORENSEN and husband Jason; one brother, Steve MAIRET; two sisters, Paula LOVEJOY and Becky DAVIS; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. MAIRET.
