Vincent Pohran was born in Solmaruhr, Germany, Dec. 29, 1822 and died at his home in Penn township July 4 1904. Came to America with his family in 1854 and settled at Burlington. The next year they moved to Lockridge township, Jefferson County, Iowa, and have lived there until recently when he sold his farm and bought the little place 1 ½ miles south of Brighton where he died. Widow and six children survive; Mrs. John Fritz, Mrs. George Hook and Mrs. Chris Minert all whom live in the vicinity. Funeral 11 o’clock Thursday at the St. Joseph’s Church in New Pleasant Plain, of which he was a member, and burial at Germanville.
