Vernon Hope GLOTFELTY

LIBERTYVILLE -- Vernon Hope GLOTFELTY, 89, formerly of the Libertyville area, died at 9 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 1992, at Regency Place Healthcare Center in Greenfield, Ind.

The service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Church of the Brethren near Libertyville with the Rev. Gordon Oliver officiating. Burial will be in Brethren Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. A memorial has been established to Libertyville Church of the Brethren.

GLOTFELTY was born July 6, 1902, in Libertyville, the son of William Nelson and Carrie STEBLETON GLOTFELTY. He graduated from the Libertyville-Batavia High School and lived most of his life in Des Moines Township near Libertyville, where he farmed. He married Esther E. WORKMAN, who died in 1956. He later married Inez SMITH of Fairfield. He was a member of Libertyville Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mary E. NELSON of Venice, Fla.; a son, Vern Hugh of Victor; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn; two sons, Vernon and Clarence; two sisters, Nellie OGDEN and Evelyn HEDGECOCK and two brothers, Floyd and Everett.

Note: Second wife Inez' maiden name was WEBB; she was previously married to Glenn T. SMITH. Vernon and Esther are buried in Brethren Cemetery, while Inez and Glenn are in Evergreen Cemetery in Lot 3rd.082.
