Ila Marie WHISLER

Ila Marie WHISLER, 87, former Pleasant Plain resident, died Sunday night, Jan. 9, 1994, at Bloomfield Care Center in Bloomfield.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton with the Rev. William Clendineng officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Plain Friends Cemetery. Family visitation will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. A general memorial has been established.

Mrs. WHISLER was born July 13, 1906, in East Pleasant Plain, the daughter of Matt and Mary McMURRAY HOOK. She was raised in East Pleasant Plain and attended Pleasant Plain schools. She married George C. WHISLER in June 1940 in Missouri. He died April 20, 1958. She worked as a waitress and cook at Mac's Cafe in Fairfield for many years. She attended Pleasant Plain Friends Church.

Surviving are a nephew and three nieces. Two sisters, Myrtle HOOK and Bertha DAVISSON, and two brothers, Fred and Albert HOOK, preceded her in death.
