Ernest ROHRER Taken In Death

Ernest ROHRER, retired railroad telegrapher and resident of Fairfield since 1960, died shortly before midnight Sunday at the Kirk Nursing home in Agency. He had been in failing health for some time.

Last rites will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. James Dendler officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Ernest ROHRER, 82, was born Jan. 9, 1885, in Fulton County, Illinois, the son of Hiram and Emma BARNES ROHRER.

He was married to Grace FULTON in Fairfield on June 26, 1912. He served as a telegrapher for the C.B.&Q. Railroad for 37 years and was a member of the Order of Railroad Telegraphers for 50 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. ROHRER lived in Canton, Ill., from 1947 to 1960 at which time they moved to Fairfield to make their home.

He is survived by his wife, two nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
