Page 1, Column 2C. F. LONG PASSES AWAY AT HOSPITAL
C. F. LONG, well known business man and prominent citizen of this community, passed away late yesterday afternoon at the Jefferson county hospital after a four day illness.
LONG, familiarly known as "China," was born and grew to manhood in Jefferson county. He was one of the six children of Emily and Richard LONG. When a very small boy he was bereft of both parents and was then reared in the home of an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Rhinehart HUSS, early pioneers of this county.

On June 20, 1906, he was united in marriage to Miss Bessie CONLEE of this city, and to this union was born three children, twin daughters and one son, Elizabeth FLEIG and Laura HELSER of Barksdale Field, Louisiana, and Jack LONG of Toledo, Ohio, all of whom survive him, together with two grandchildren, Nancy Ann HELSER and James Boone FLEIG. Besides the children, grandchildren and wife, LONG is survived by one brother, Simon LONG and numerous business friends and acquaintances.
Mr. LONG was a charter member of the Order of Elks and an attendant of the First Church of Christ Scientist.
Funeral services will be held at the Murray Funeral Parlors at 2:00 o'clock Friday afternoon, and burial will take place in the Evergreen cemetery.
