Vivian L. COUNTRYMAN

Vivian L. COUNTRYMAN, 78, of Fairfield, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2002, at the long-term care unit of Jefferson County Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield with the Rev. Michael D. Renken officiating. Interment will be in the Lockridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday between 7 and 8:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to the Shriner's Hospitals or to the New Sweden United Methodist Church.

Mrs. COUNTRYMAN was born Oct. 5, 1923 on a farm near Martin and Bessie LONG JOHNSON. She grew up in the Lockridge community and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1941.

She married Robert W. COUNTRYMAN June 15, 1941, in Lancaster, Mo. They lived on a farm near Pulaski for 26 years until moving to a farm in Jefferson County in 1967.

She was a member of New Sweden United Methodist Church near Lockridge.

Survivors include two son, David W. COUNTRYMAN and his wife Bobbie of Ames and Philip A. COUNTRYMAN and his wife Gloria of Fairfield; one daughter, Barbara A. SCHWAKE and her husband Gerry of Sumner; several grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; and her sister, Edith GEORGE of Lockridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her parents; and one sister, Edna JOHNSON.
