DES MOINES - Phyllis B. KOCUR, 71, died Thursday at Charter Community Hospital in Des Moines.
She was born March 22, 1915, in Fairfield to Leland S. BRADSHAW and Mary E. ROTH. On April 18, 1941, she married George KOCUR at St. Mary Catholic Church at Fairfield. She graduated from the University of Iowa and earned a master's degree in social services from Loyola University in Chicago.
Mrs. KOCUR was a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Des Moines, Catholic Daughters and St. Vincent de Paul Auxiliary. She worked for Catholic Charities for 14 years and served as a social worker for the state of Iowa.
She is survived by a sister, Barbara BURKHEIMER, Rochester, Minn.; three nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church with rosary at 5:30 tonight at Westover Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.
