JOHN WENDLING who died in Walnut township Feb. 26th was born in Lancaster Co., Ohio Aug. 4, 1834. With his parents removed to Jefferson Co., Iowa, in Sept. 1850. The family then purchased a farm a mile northeast of Germanville which has since been his home and on which deceased lived during all his life in this state. An honest, genial and industrious man. His wife ELIZABETH SCHAEFER, a son and three daughters survive. Children are all at home except a daughter, MRS. ELIZABETH LAUDERBACH of Stanton, and she, with an uncle, GEORGE W. WENDLING of Villisca, was present at the funeral. Remains interred in Union Cemetery a mile southeast of Germanville.
