Well Known Fairfield Resident Passed Away Tuesday Evening
Mrs. David STEWART, well known local resident, passed away at 9:20 o'clock last evening in the Jefferson county hospital following a weeks' serious illness. She had been in poor health for the past two years.
Sarah Elizabeth MASTERS was born April 9, 1863, near Lebenon (sic. Lebanon), Monroe county, Ohio. She was married to David STEWART in 1880, who with the following children survive: Mrs. Louis SCHWIETER and Mrs. Henry SCHWEITER of Shelbina, Mo.; William STEWART of Quincy, Ill.; Mrs. F. S. GRACE and O.M. STEWART of Fairfield. One son, John, and one daughter, Mrs. George BUCHANAN (sic. Emma STEWART BUCHANAN, died seven months before on Dec. 13, 1933 and is buried in an unmarked grave beside Sarah), preceded her in death. She also leaves eight grandchildren.
Mrs. STEWART was converted at the age of 9 and joined the church at 13 (sic. denomination and name of church not indicated in the obituary). She made her home with her son, O. M. STEWART, 804 South Depot street.
Funeral services will be held from the Hoskins Funeral home at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in charge of Rev. S. P. Williamson whose text will be 14th chapter of John. The songs selected will be "A Land of Beauty" "Come Thy Fount" and "No Disappointment in Heaven." Burial in Evergreen cemetery.
