Page 3, Column 1George HARTMAN, seventh and youngest son of George and Mary KOBLER HARTMAN, was born Sept. 12, 1843 at Grentail, a village in Wurttemburg, Germany, and died at the home of his son, William in Fairfield, Iowa Aug. 7, 1932 aged 88-10-25. Married in 1863 Maria FRICK, who died 16 years ago, Aug. 20, 1916. Four children, George, Bertha, Chris and William E. George and Bertha have preceded him in death. Besides the two sons, Chris, northeast of Fairfield, and William of Fairfield, he leaves 5 grandchildren, Mrs. Elsie SANDELL, and Howard HARTMAN of Salina, and Taylor, Richard and Dorothy HARTMAN of Fairfield, also two great-grandsons, Chris and Floyd SANDELL of Salina. Came to America in 1865, coming direct to Edwardsville, Ill., where he stayed a year, then locating in St. Louis with an older brother for 3 or 4 years. From there he removed to Iowa.... German Lutheran Church. Laid to rest in the Lutheran Cemetery at Germanville Aug. 9, 1932.
