Anne M. SNYDER

Anne M. SNYDER, 77, of Burlington, died at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at Great River Medical Center-Klein Center in Burlington.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Chatholic Church, with the Rev. Father Bruce A. DeRammelaere officiating. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery (sic - in Fort Madison, IA). Food and fellowship will follow at St. John's cafeteria.

Visitation will be from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday at Hass-Thielen Funeral Home in Burlington, with a Rosary service at 5 p.m. followed by family visitation.

In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Saints John & Paul Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul food pantry and Great River Hospice.

Mrs. SNYDER was born May 7, 1934, in Burlington, the daughter of John Joseph and Marie Marguerite CHAMPAGNE DUNNE. She married Richard Clarence SNYDER Sept. 5, 1953, in Burlington. He died May 23, 1965.

Mrs. SNYDER was a 1951 graduate of Burlington Catholic High School. She was a secretary for the Burlington Community School District for 28 years. She retired in 1997.

Mrs. SNYDER was a member of Saints John & Paul Catholic Church, where she was a Eucharistic minister and sacristan. She volunteered her time with St. Vincent de Paul food pantry, Birthright of Burlington and Homebound Ministries. She belonged to several bridge clubs.

Survivors include two daughters, Teresa GIESE and husband David of Iowa City and Joan CHAMBERLIN and husband Brad of Shorewood, Ill.; two daughters-in-law, Mary SNYDER of Burlington and Lisa SNYDER of West Burlington; 10 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and three sisters, Kathleen McLEAN of Bel Air, Md., Joan BUCH of Fairfield and Margaret DUNNE of Burlington.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Matthew and John; three brothers, John DUNNE, James DUNNE and Bernard DUNNE; and one sister, Adrienne DUNNE.
