May 31-1977M. SANAGHAN Dies At 72
LOCKRIDGE - Myrtle Alice SANAGHAN, 72, resident of Lockridge, died at 2:20 a.m. today, May 31, at the Jefferson County Hospital.
Services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Lockridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Myrtle Alice SANAGHAN was born Feb. 10, 1905, near Lockridge, the daughter of Charlie and Jennie PETERSON ERICKSON. She was reared and educated in the Lockridge community where she attended grade school and graduated from the Fairfield High School.
She attended Parsons College and Iowa Wesleyan College where she received her teacher's certificate. She taught rural school in Jefferson County.
She was married to Hugh SANAGHAN and they lived in Chicago until 1942 when they returned to Lockridge. He preceded his wife in death.
Mrs. SANAGHAN had been employed at the state hospital in Mount Pleasant, ordnance plant in Burlington, Main Street restaurant and PEO Home in Mount Pleasant. She was a member of Lockridge Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, James, Lockridge; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also three sisters, Ollie BRIGGS and Ivy BILLINGSLEY both of Lockridge and Lola ORMAN, Ottumwa.
In addtion to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
