MILLER Funeral To Be Saturday

Mrs. Fred J. MILLER , 96, one of the county's oldest residents, died at 8:10 a.m. today at the Jefferson County Hospital.

She had been in failing health the past 2½ months and had entered the hospital on March 7. Her home is at 207½ E. Briggs.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran church with the Rev. Hoyt Whitebread officiating. Burial will be in the Lockridge cemetery. The casket will be taken from the Raymond Funeral Home to the church at 12:30 p.m. the day of the services.

Sadie Anna MILLER was born Jan. 7, 1870, at Salina, the daughter of Alfred H. and Elizabeth ANGSTEAD ESHELMAN. She was reared and educated in Jefferson County.

On Feb. 5, 1890, she was united in marriage to Fred J. MILLER at Four Corners. He preceded his wife in death on Sept. 1, 1934. Mrs. MILLER spent her entire life in Jefferson County.

She was a long-time member of the Lutheran Church and the Dorcas Society. She was also a member of the Quilters Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Maude VEST, Galesburg, Ill.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; also two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth WHITMER, Gilmore City, Iowa; and Mrs. Maude WILLIAMS, Princeton, Ill.

Mrs. MILLER was preceded in death by one son, five sisters and two brothers.
