DEATH CLAIMS MRS. FLEMING

Death came yesterday to a well known Fairfield woman and wife of a local carpenter.

She is Mrs. J. E. FLEMING, 53 Forest Drive, who passed away at her home at 1:20 a.m. after an illness of ten months.

Last rites will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Christian church with Rev. S. P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The body will be taken from the Monger funeral home to the church at 1:00 p.m. the day of the services.

Mary Elizabeth FLEMING was born December 6, 1876, at Maryville, California. When she was six months old she moved to Stockport in Van Buren county with her parents, the late Oliver and Raechel (sic) WORKMAN.

She was united in marriage on December 23, 1896, to J. E. FLEMING, who survives. The wedding took place at Stockport. Mrs. FLEMING was a member of the Christian church.

The FLEMINGs moved to Fairfield 40 years ago and have made their home in this community since. Mr. FLEMING is a carpenter by trade and has erected many homes in Fairfield.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one son and three daughters: Gene FLEMING, Gowanda, New York; Mrs. C. E. BECK, Burlington; Mrs. B. E. GLOTFELTY, Des Moines; and Mrs. H. A. LUNDBERG, Waterloo.

Seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. One of the granddaughters, Mrs. Al ROBERTSON of Burlington, will play the organ while her husband sings during the funeral service.

Mrs. FLEMING is also survived by a brother, Dick WORKMAN, Stockport. One brother preceded her in death.
