Fay CHAMP Succumbs At Local Hospital

Fay CHAMP, well known Dexter company employee, passed away shortly before noon today at the Jefferson county hospital.

Mr. CHAMP had been seriously ill for the past four weeks, and suffered a heart attack yesterday just before he was taken to the hospital.

The body was taken to the Weston Behner funeral home where last rites are pending.

RITES TUESDAY FOR F. O. CHAMP

Last rites will be Tuesday morning for Fay O. CHAMP, well known Dexter company employee who passed away at the Jefferson county hospital shortly before noon Saturday.

The service will be held at the Weston Behner funeral home at 11 a.m. with Rev. G. J. Dingman in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. CHAMP suffered a heart attack Friday morning and was taken to the hospital at that time. He had been in ill health for the past month at his home, 303 E. Madison street.

Fay CHAMP, 52, had been a resident of Fairfield for over 30 years. He ws born February 19, 1897, at Bloomfield, the son of Marion and Nibia (sic - Zenobia) CARNAL CHAMP. He was united in marriage on February 24, 1918, to Eulalia S. CARLOW at Fairfield.

He was a member of the Eagles lodge (sic - Aerie or Club), and was employed at the Fairfield Steam Laundry for several years before he began his work at the Dexter company.

Besides his wife, Mr. CHAMP is survived by the following children: Oren F., Fairfield; John L., Corning, Iowa; Kathryn E., Charlotte M., Robert J., Mary Margaret and Elizabeth J., all at home. He is also survived by two grandchildren; his father, Marion F. CHAMP; four brothers, Johnnie, Vernice and Clarence, all of Fairfield; and Oren F. CHAMP, Los Angeles, California.

Three children and a sister preceded Mr. CHAMP in death.
