OBITUARY

MRS. ANTON NEIS

Margaret Elizabeth OSWALT was born Nov. 4th 1861. On Mar. 27th, 1895 she was united in marriage to Anton Ulrich NEIS. After her marriage she made her home in Guthrie county for 9 years. She then moved with her husband to Iowa county for nine years, with the exception of these 18 years, her life was spent near Richland, Iowa. She departed this life on Nov. 21st. 1929 at her home. She is survived by her husband Mr. Anton NEIS. Two sisters and five brothers have preceded her in death. Mrs. NEIS spent her life in a quiet way, serving and helping others. She has gone to be with the God whom she served with a faithful loyalty.

Services were held from the family home at 12:30 Saturday afternoon, Nov. 23rd and at McDowel Chapel at 1 oclock conducted by Rev. Melvin A. Pearce, minister of the first Congregational church of Keosauqua, a former pastor of McDowel Chapel. Interment was made in the Evergreen cemetery at Fairfield.
