Monday, August 13, 1984Esther M. STUMP dies at 87
Esther M. STUMP, 87, 909 Fairview Drive, died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday at Nelson Nursing Home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds with the Rev. Charles Kincaid officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery north of Douds. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorials to the Lung Association may be left at the funeral home.
The daughter of J. Columbus and Anna MALLAMS FERREL, Mrs. STUMP was born Jan. 20, 1897 near New London. On Nov. 21, 1917, she married Harold STUMP in Ottumwa. They lived most of their married life near Douds. He died in April, 1981 and she moved to Fairfield shortly after.
Surviving are two daughters, Wilma LOOMIS of Fairfield, Weltha DOUD of Ottumwa; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Erma STUMP of Loveland, Col., Elsie CRAWFORD, Elaine BONNETT, both of Fairfield; three brothers, Floyd FERREL of Bonaparte, Lloyd of Fairfield and Robert of Mesa, Ariz.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Douds.
