Arvel JAMES, 91, Taken In Death

BATAVIA - Arvel JAMES, lifetime resident of Jefferson County, died this morning at the Kirk Nursing Home in Agency. He had been seriously ill the past two months.

Last rites will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Chapel with burial in the Brethren Cemetery.

Arvel JAMES, 91, was born March 20, 1878, in Jefferson County, the son of William and Hester SNOOK JAMES. He had lived on the same farm his entire life.

He was married to Mabel COPELAND in 1903. She preceded him in death in 1938.

James was a member of the Libertyville Church of the Brethren. He is survived by one son, Donald, Batavia and was preceded in death by 12 brothers and a sister.
