LIBERTYVILLE, Ia., March 19 - A long time resident of the Libertyville community passed away at 7:30 p.m. last night at the Jefferson county hospital. She is Mrs. Anna M. HANEY, 81, who had been a patient at the hospital since October 22, 1947.
Mrs. Haney was a Gold Star Mother of World War I. Her son, Merle, was killed in action during the first world conflict.
Last rites will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Libertyville Methodist church with Rev. Wayne Carr and Rev. L. M. Kirby in charge. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery.
The body is at the Hoskins funeral home at Fairfield and will be taken to the church just before the services Monday.
Anna M. HANEY was born November 8, 1867, in Jefferson county, the daughter of the late Henry and India Ann GRAMMAR. She was united in marriage on December 24, 1884, to Harvey L. HANEY who passed away in 1917. She lived practically all of her life in the Libertyville community.
Mrs. HANEY is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Eva McBRIDE, Libertyville; and Mable at home; one son, Walter L. HANEY, Keosauqua; a sister, Mary HOYT, Muscatine; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four children: Merle, killed during the first world war, Myron, McKinley, and Mrs. Jennie WILLIAMS.
(I research the HANEY lineage.)
