Services for Ruth KILLION will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Riggs officiating. Mrs. KILLION, 83, of 407 W. Broadway, died Thursday evening at the Charlotte Memorial Hospital in Charlotte, N.C. She had been visiting her son.
Family visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mrs. KILLION was born Sept. 18, 1899, in Birmingham, the daughter of Frank and Mary GROFF MASSEY. She married Oral Lewis KILLION Sept. 4, 1923, in Fairfield. He died Nov. 9, 1957.
Mrs. KILLION is survived by her son, Ralph KILLION of Waxhaw, N.C., and her dauther, Arlene ANGELL of Bettendorf. Two sisters also are living, Alma SWINDELLS and Martha JACOBS, both of Ontario, Calif. Five grandchildren and one great-grandson also survive. A brother preceded her in death.
Mrs. KILLION had been a rural school teacher in Jefferson County and worked as an operator for United Telephone Company. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, a lifetime member to the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of Retired Telephone Operators.
