ATWOOD rites

PACKWOOD - Genevieve M. ATWOOD, 81, Packwood, died at 1:15 a.m. Sunday at the Parkview Care Center.

Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Packwood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Lofton officiating. Burial will be in the Packwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials may be made to the Packwood Methodist Church.

Mrs. ATWOOD was a member of the Packwood Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, American Legion Auxiliary, Packwood Senior Citizens Club and the Keep Young Club of Fairfield.

She was employed as a cook at the Jefferson County Hospital for a number of years.

Genevieve M. ATWOOD was born Dec. 2, 1901, at Traer. She was the daughter of Wallace and Minnie CONRAD GASTON. She was reared and educated in the Traer Community and was married to Irwin ATWOOD Aug. 8, 1922, in Traer.

They moved to the Birmingham area where they lived until moving to the Packwood Community in 1938.

Survivors include two sons, Donald, Fairfield, and Wayne, Packwood; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and a brother, Lyle GASTON, Floyd, Iowa.

In addition to her husband who died March 10, 1956, Mrs. ATWOOD was preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers.
