DEATH OF MRS. MATILDA WEIDNER.

Mrs. Matilda WEIDNER died at her home in Pleasant Plain Saturday July 31, 1915, aged 76 years 8 months and 18 days. She was born in Massilon, Ohio Nov. 13, 1836 (sic - 1838, as on her gravestone), and came to Deedsville, Iowa, with her parents, Casper and Mary OTTERBINE, at the age of 8 years. On Dec. 11, 1855, she was married to Lewis W. SPIELMAN, and to this union nine children were born, five of whom survive her. The children were J.W. and Mary A. WILLIAMS of Worthington, Minn.; N.E. of Brighton; G.A. of Packwood, and Tillie GARDNER of Cass Lake, Minn., living, and F.C., Jacob, Lewis and Willie deceased.

The husband and father died March 20 1878 and in September 1896 she again was married to L. C. EDWARDS who died two years later. On July 3, 1902 she was again united in marriage to Joseph WEIDNER who together with three sons, two daughters, 19 grandchildren and a host of friends remain to mourn her loss. She was a woman of strong Christian character, true to the teachings of her Christ and church, and a loving wife and mother. The funeral services were held at the Lutheran church near Germanville Monday afternoon coducted by the pastor, Rev. E. G. Reiber, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.
