Lon Paul GIBERSON

Lon Paul GIBERSON, 68, of Ottumwa, died at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at home.

No service was held. The body has been cremated.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Arrangements are in the care of Reece Funeral Home.

Mr. GIBERSON was born July 15, 1943, in Fairfield, the son of Frank R. "Bud" and Mary HOLTON GIBERSON. He married Janice CHEZUM Aug. 30, 1965. They divorced. He married Karen MILLHOUSE Oct. 31, 1981.

Mr. GIBERSON had worked at Louden Machinery and retired from Dexter Company in Fairfield in 2006.

Mr. GIBERSON served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam conflict.

Survivors include his wife; seven daughters, Lonna GIBERSON and Lisa HARRIS, both of East Pleasant Plain, Janie GIBERSON of Birmingham and Angela GIBERSON, Paula GIBERSON, Crystal GIBERSON and Virginia GIBERSON, all of Ottumwa; two sons, James GIBERSON and wife Tara of North Liberty and Lon "Pee Wee" GIBERSON Jr. of Ottumwa; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Ronald GIBERSON of Agency; and one sister, Toni DOUTHART of Floris.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jason GIBERSON; and his parents and stepmother, Mary "Max" GIBERSON.
