Ethel GRIFFIN rites Friday

Ethel I. GRIFFIN, 89, longtime Fairfield resident, died at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday at Maple Leaf Health Center in Mt. Pleasant, where she had been a resident for six years.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert P. Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Mrs. GRIFFIN was born May 29, 1894 in Lewis (sic. Cass county, Iowa), the daughter of Thomas and Amanda AGANS RHOADES (sic. RHODES). On Aug. 21, 1912 in Clarinda, she married Archie B. GRIFFIN. He died Dec. 1, 1962. A homemaker, she had lived most of her life in the Fairfield community.

Surviving are five sons, William of Raston, Ark., Raymond and George, both of Fairfield, Earl of Hillsboro, Gail of Moliton, Ark.; two daughters, Betty BILLINGSLEY and Shirley BARROW, both of Fairfield; 27 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Three sons, a daughter, three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
