A. GRIFFIN rites set

Archie B. GRIFFIN, 53, native of Fairfield, died at 3:15 a.m. today at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home with the Rev. D. O. Van Dyne officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Archie B. GRIFFIN, 708 S. Fourth, was born April 21, 1926 in Fairfield, the son of Archie B. and Ethel RHODES GRIFFIN. He lived his entire life in Fairfield and was employed at the Fairfield Aluminum Castings Co. until ill health caused his retirement two years ago. He was a veteran of World War II.

His marriage to Norma BURROWS took place Sept. 25, 1949 in Fairfield.

In addition to his widow GRIFFIN is survived by one son, Mike GRIFFIN, Fairfield; two daughters, Gaylee LAUFER, St. Louis, Mo., and Kelley MILLER, Fairfield; and two grandchildren.

He is also survived by his mother, Ethel GRIFFIN, Mount Pleasant; three sisters, Betty BILLINGSLEY and Shirley BARROW both of Fairfield; and Mary SHIPP who lives in Arkansas; five brothers, George and Ray both of Fairfield; Earl, Hillsboro; and Pete (sic - Gail 'Pete') and Bill who also live in Arkansas.
