Ruth E. HAWTHORNE, 94, formerly of Fairfield, died today, Tuesday, Jan., 31, 2012, in Peewee Valley, Ky.

Arrangements are pending at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Ruth E. HAWTHORNE

Ruth E. HAWTHORNE, 94, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, in PeeWee Valley, Ky.

A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Joseph Phipps officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church and sent to Louis Coons at 2017 Clarke Pointe Drive, Crestwood, KY 40014

Mrs. HAWTHORNE was born Oct. 2, 1917, in Fairfield, the daughter of Thomas and Laura CARSON ALLEN.

Mrs. HAWTHORNE worked as an editorial proofreader for Dexter Company for 43 years.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bruce HAWTHORNE (sic - Earl Bruce); and one sister, Thelma L. COONS.
