PAUL LATHROP RITES IN CITY

Services at Hoskins Funeral Home Wednesday At 11: a.m. (sic. time of day as published)

DAVENPORT - April 9 - Paul LATHROP, 21, died suddenly at the family home, 1423 Harrison street, at 5 p.m. Sunday following a heart attack. Dr. W. F. Skelley, coroner, who was called after his death, announced there would be no inquest. The parents of the youth said that he had long had a weak heart and had recently been refused admission to a CCC camp for this reason.

The body will arrive in Fairfield tonight. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hoskins Funeral home in Fairfield, in charge of Rev. S.P. Williamson. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery there.

He was born Nov. 21, 1913, in Fairfield, Ia., coming to Davenport with his parents in 1918. He was educated in the Davenport schools.

Surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred LATHROP (sic. a/k/a James Frederick LATHROP and Rebecca "Jennie" HARPER LATHROP), two brothers, Chester, Davenport, and Jasper, at home; a sister, Opal, at home, and his parental grandfather, Jasper LATHROP, Fairfield, Iowa.

Note: Buried in Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. SDiv.2-020. Nearby in this and an adjacent plot (021) are his parents, a sibling (Jasper H.), and other members of the extended LATHROP families. Paul died on Sunday, April 7, 1935.
