W. Carol WHITTINGTON, 80, of Sun City, Ariz., former area resident, died Sunday, July 8, 1990, at Boswell Memorial Hospital in Sun City.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Faith Presbyterian Church in Sun City. Sunland Mortuary in Sun City is in charge of arrangements. A memorial services and burial of ashes will be held later at Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. A memorial has been established to the Cottey College Scholarship Fund at Cottey College in Nevada, Mo.
Mrs. WHITTINGTON was born Jan. 25, 1910, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of Howard and Katherine MILLER McDONALD. She graduated from Parsons College. She married Floyd WHITTINGTON. They lived in Japan, Korea, Thailand and other parts of Asia for more than 20 years. She was decorated by his majesty king of Thailand for her service to the welfare of women. She was active in women's organizations in Asia, a member of American Association of University Women, a 60-year member of PEO and a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Sun City.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Susan WEST of Sonora, Calif.; a son, Thomas L. of Bellevue, Wash.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Christine GAENSBAUER of Sun City, Barbara PARKS of Royal Oaks, Mich.; and a brother, Malcolm McDONALD of Madison, Wis.
