Elmer J. BILD

Elmer J. BILD, 78, 1514 N. Fourth, Belle Plaine, former Fairfield resident, died at 10:40 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 1990, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

The body was cremated. A graveside service with military rites will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield with the Rev. Bonifacio Mequi officiating. Friends may sign the register book at Behner Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

BILD was born April 22, 1912, in Page, Neb., the son of Elmer and Ella McCLARAN BILD. He married Jean RICHARDS July 15, 1953, in Whiting. He retired after 33 years as a veterinarian, having his last practice in Wausa, Neb. He was a captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He was affiliated with the American Legion in Fairfield, was commander-in-chief of the Fairfield VFW Post for two years, and a member of Masonic Lodge in Sioux City.

Surviving are his wife; a son, Charles E. of North Liberty; four daughters, Jean BILD, Sandra J. WEDMORE, both of Belle Plaine, Linda A. BILD of Los Angeles, Allana P. GENA of Buffalo Grove, Ill.; seven grandchildren and a sister, Emily RODMAN of O'Neill, Neb. A brother, Charles, preceded him in death.
