Myrtle E. FULTON, 92, of Ottumwa, formerly of Richland, died early today, Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, in Ottumwa.

Arrangements are pending at Gould Funeral Home in Richland.

Myrtle E. FULTON

Myrtle E. FULTON, 92, of Richland, died early Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, at her daughter's home in Ottumwa.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Richland United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Kim Gates officiating. Burial will be in Valley Cemetery, east of Talleyrand.

Open visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the family present 5-7 p.m.

Gifts to a general memorial may be left at the funeral home or church or may be mailed to the family at 11489 Bladensburg Road, Ottumwa 52501.

Mrs. FULTON was born Feb. 13, 1919, in Valley, the daughter of Guy Willis and Myrtle Mae BALES BLACK. She married Mervyn E. FULTON Dec. 12, 1935. He died July 4, 1977.

Mrs. FULTON grew up in the Valley/Keota area and attended Talleyrand country school. She later earned her high school general education development credential diploma. She worked most of her life as a cook at local nursing homes, a senior center and Richland Snack Shack. She also had worked at the Fairfield Glove Factory. She had lived with her daughter in Ottumwa the past two years.

Survivors include one daughter, Judy FULTON of Ottumwa; two sons, Kermit FULTON and wife Barbara of Fort Madison and Keith FULTON and wife Diane of Davenport; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Vickie HAMMONTREE; two sons, Leland and Raymond; one infant grandson; one infant great-grandson; two sisters, Delphia HAHN and Irma HAHN; and four brothers, Otis, Owen, Omar and Orin BLACK.
