Katherine Marie KASKA ROMITTI

Katherine Marie KASKA ROMITTI, 75, died after a long illness Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Augustin Catholic Church in Des Moines.

Visitation is from 9-11 a.m. Monday at the church.

Memorials may be sent to Hospice at 5650 NW Johnston, Suite E, Johnston 50131; or American Cancer Society.

Mrs. ROMITTI was born March 3, 1936, in Fairfield, the daughter of Eugene and Beatrice KASKA. She married Al ROMITTI in 1964.

Mrs. ROMITTI attended Northern Iowa Teachers College in Cedar Falls and AIB. She held several secretarial positions in Des Moines. After marrying, the ROMITTIs moved to Madrid, and Mrs. ROMITTI commuted to work in Des Moines. After her husband's death, Mrs. ROMITTI moved back to Des Moines to be near friends and pursue playing the piano.

She enjoyed playing piano at church, local hospitals and many events. She also was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors include one sister, Shirley ROSSA; and one brother, William KASKA.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and one brother, Jim KASKA.
