Rites Today For John A. WEBBER

Last rites for John A. WEBBER, 88, were scheduled for 2:30 p.m. today at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. A. P. Jingster, Iowa City, officiating. Burial was to be in Evergreen Cemetery.

WEBBER died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Crestview Nursing Home in West Branch, Iowa, where he had been a patient for the past two years.

John A. WEBBER was born Dec. 17, 1878, in Jefferson County, the son of Philip and Laura SWOPE WEBBER. On March 9, 1904, he was married to Etta WALKER (sic. Alfretta "Etta" WALKER) who died May 1, 1941 (sic. other sources use May 3, 1941 for her DOD). On Nov. 6, 1944, he was married to Lillian McCLARAN (sic. Lillian LOGSDON McCLARAN, widow of Gilbert McCLARAN). She died Jan. 10, 1949.

WEBBER lived most of his life in Jefferson County, most of the time on a farm in the Glasgow community.

He is survived by one son, Emery WEBBER, Minneapolis, Minn. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul (sic. Paul Laverne WEBBER), who died in November, 1966.

Note: Buried in Evergreen cemetery, Fairfield, Iowa. Buried with his first wife, Alfretta "Etta" WALKER WEBBER, in 2nd.136. His second wife Lillian is buried with her first husband, Gilbert McCLARAN, in Old.P.266.
