OBITUARY

PHILIP CHARLES WEBBER

Philip Charles WEBBER was born in Sommerset Shire, England, March 30, 1849. (sic. Died in) Fairfield, Iowa, Nov. 24, 1923. He came to America with his parents who settled in Illinois, later coming to Iowa where they engaged in farming.

In 1878 he was married to Laura Etta Jane SWOPE who with five children are left to mourn his departure. Two children preceded him. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary NEWMAN of Stockport, Iowa. In 1904 he moved to Fairfield which has since been his home.

He was a member of the Christian church and also the Odd Fellows which order had charge of the burial services.

He suffered much during his illness yet bore it patiently putting his trust in God who was his refuge and strength.

Funeral services were conducted from the home Monday afternoon at 2:30 oclock by his pastor, Rev. R.H. Polly. The body was then laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery.
