Miriam Carol KAUFFMAN, 88, formerly of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Elsberry Health Care Center in Elsberry, Mo.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Per Mrs. KAUFFMAN's wishes, no visitation is planned.
Memorials may be made to North Hill Cemetery fund in Wayland.
Mrs. KAUFFMAN was born Aug. 13, 1923, in Wayland, the daughter of David and Lavina ROTH MEYER. She married Donald KAUFFMAN Dec. 25, 1942.
Mrs. KAUFFMAN lived most of her early life in Wayland, except for a few years in Kent, Ohio. She graduated from Wayland High School. The KAUFFMANs farmed in the Wayland area until 1962, when they moved to Fairfield. Mrs. KAUFFMAN worked as a secretary at Louden Machine Company for many years. In the late 1970s, the couple moved to Mount Pleasant, where Mrs. KAUFFMAN worked in accounting at Henry County Hospital until her retirement.
The couple enjoyed wintering in Florida.
Survivors include three children, Thomas and wife Sandra of Troy, Mo., Terry and wife Catherine of Brattleboro, Vt., and Debra BARNHART and husband David of Davenport; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one infant granddaughter; three brothers, Elmer, Allen and Orval MEYER; and three sisters, Mabel ROTH, Esther JADOT and Ruth ANDERSON.
