Angeline Drish Vance, 94, formerly of Brighton died Wednesday afternoon Oct. 8, 2003, at Washington Care Center in Washington, Iowa.

The body has been cremated. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain.

Gould Funeral Home in Brighton is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Vance was born Oct. 21, 1908, in Brighton, the daughter of Joseph Leo and Gertrude Takel Biskey Drish. She married Joseph Vance June 17, 1937, in Ottumwa. He died April 5, 1999.

Mrs. Vance attended Libertyville schools and lived in Ottumwa for most of her life. She worked at Seiferts in Ottumwa, as a receptionist for two doctors and as a clerk at Hofmann Drug. She returned to Brighton following her husbands death and lived with her sister until entering the Washington Care Center this year.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the Altar and Rosary Society in Ottumwa.

Survivors include two sisters, Frances Drish of Long Beach, Calif., and Marie Barnett of Washington, Iowa.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Irene Drish and Nell Ryden; and five brothers, Leo, Anthony, Clarence, Donald and George Drish.
