Orlo Arnold "Burr" DeGOOD

Orlo Arnold "Burr" DeGOOD, 100, of 201 E. Buchanan Ave., Apt. 3. died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Jefferson County Hospital.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Abingdon Cemetery in Abingdon, with the Rev. Keevin Koch officiating.

Family visitation will be from 6:30 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Packwood First Responders or to the donor's choice.

Mr. DeGOOD was born March 8, 1902, near Hickory Ridge in rural Batavia, the son of Bryant Boyd and Olive Charolet JONES DeGOOD. He married Fredith Lucille DAVIS Oct. 18, 1938, in Ottumwa. She died Aug. 1, 2001.

Mr. DeGOOD lived all of his life in Jefferson County. He was a heavy equipment operator for Jefferson County and Rock Island Railroad for 43 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Carole Joed HILL of Iturbe, Paraquay, South America; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; five brothers, Ralph, Rollie, Lovell, Ted and Glo; one sister, Waneta; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
