Bob CALDWELL

OTTUMWA --- Robert Lee CALDWELL, 51, of 1849 W. Second St. died at 9:43 a.m. June 16, 1993, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center.

He was born Sept. 28, 1941, in Wapello County to Lee and Helen L. BENEDICT CALDWELL. He married Gail Lee BEAVER on Aug. 21, 1965, in Ottumwa.

A 1960 graduate of Ottumwa High School, he served with the Marines from 1961 to 1965. He worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works for 21 years, retiring Dec, 31, 1987. He was a Past Master and secretary for 10 years of Formal Masonic Lodge No. 442 in Kirkville, was a member of the Davenport Consistory, Davenport KAABA Shrine, Davenport Camel Herders Club, Ottumwa Shrine Club, Ottumwa Consistory, Ottumwa Cycle Patrol and Order of the Eastern Star Ottumwa Chapter No. 112.

He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Kimberly BISHOP of Corydon; two granddaughters; his stepmother, Joanne Caldwell THOMANN of Agency; a brother, Gary of Ottumwa; and four sisters, Lois WILLIAMS of Ottumwa, Janet COLE of Silvis, Ill., Lee Anne FEDORE of Austin, Texas, and Carrie CLARK of Niles, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Linda; and a grandson.

The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Reece Funeral Home, the Rev. Tim Dobson of Ottumwa Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery in Abingdon with military rites conducted by O.B. Nelson Post No. 30 of American Legions and Walter B. Schafer Post No. 775 of Veterans of Foreign Wars..

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home. Masonic service will be 7 p.m. Friday with family visitation to follow.

Pallbearers will be Larry "Bud" Williams, Gary, Doug and Todd Caldwell, Carl Cole and Wade Lindner.

Honorary pallbearers will be Formal Masonic Lodge members, Jeff Griffiths and Jim Sappington.

Memorials may be made to Formal Masonic Lodge No. 442 in Kirkville.
