Helen BAKER

Helen BAKER, 94, of Fairfield, formerly of Richland, died early Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at SunnyBrook Living Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gould Funeral Home in Richland, with the Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating. Burial will be in Richland Friends Cemetery.

Family visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials for Hospice of Central Iowa or Richland United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 208 S. Court St., Apt. 109, Fairfield 52556.

Mrs. BAKER was born Jan. 21, 1917, in Sigourney, the daughter of Thomas Lee and Goldie DERBY LANKFORD. She married Albert "Pete" BAKER June 17, 1936, in Fairfield. He died Oct. 27, 1997.

Mrs. BAKER attended Richland No. 11 country school and Valley country school near Tallyrand. The BAKERs lived on a farm north of Richland until moving into Richland in 1973. Mrs. BAKER spent most of her time caring for their home and yard and being with family. She moved to SunnyBrook Living Care Center in 2003.

She was a member of Richland United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Joan OLSON of Fairfield; two grand-daughters; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley NIECE of Richland; and one brother, Kenneth LANKFORD of Mound City, Kan.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Opal ESTES, Dorothy ROSS, Betty MORROW and Vivian HOBBS; and two brothers, Merle and Bud LANKFORD.
